Lazy Butt Friday

So I woke up today feeling super lazy. So lazy, in fact, that all I wanted to do was stay in bed all day. However, I got my lazy butt out of bed and worked out anyway. Lately, I've been doing Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred DVD. I also usually go for a brisk 4 mile walk every day. I also work for a while on my abs, about an hour every day. So far today, I've only done the 30-Day Shred DVD but later today I'll probably do the rest If I can get my lazy butt motivated. I've decided that if I make a list of my 5 favorite ab exercises, maybe I'll get the motivation. I will tell you what they are and how to do them. So, here it goes.

1. Reverse Crunch
To do a reverse crunch, you lie on your back with your hands on the floor and your legs in the air in a 90 degree angle. Contract your abs to lift your hips a few inches off the ground, come back down. Do 1-3 sets of 15-18.

2. Vertical Leg Crunch
Lie on your back with your hands by your ears and legs straight in the air. Crunch up keeping your legs in place. Repeat for 1-3 sets of 15-18.

3. Plank
Lie face down, push up onto toes and elbows (or onto your hands for a little bit more difficult exercise). Use your abs to keep your back flat, and don't let your butt sag or stick up. Try to hold for 30-60 seconds. Repeat for 3-5 reps. Just remember, don't feel bad if you can't hold it for that long. You'll work your way up to it.

4. Russian Twist
Sit on the floor with knees bent, feet on the floor (for a slightly harder move, hold feet a few inches off the ground). Keep your back off the ground at an approximate 45 degree angle. Hold arms away from bod, toward legs and move from side to side. Touch the floor on either side. Repeat for 1-3 reps of 20-30.

5. Bicycle Crunch
Lie on back with hands by your ears. Legs up at a 90 degree angle. Crunch up bringing right knee toward chest and lift shoulder blade off the floor, rotating left elbow toward right knee. Repeat with left knee and right elbow. Continue alternating sides for 1-3 reps of 20-25.

Keep in mind, the bicycle crunch is really not one of my favorite moves, but it is the MOST effective. That's why it made the list! Anything worth getting i worth working toward - That's my own little philosophy toward abs. I hope all you beautiful people out there enjoy trying all of these. And remember, with me in mind, that now matter how much a lazy butt mood you're in, you can get a good workout in today! Have a fantastic day and work on those abs! You have no reason not to! :)

xoxo, Morgan
